Surplus Property
Surplus Property Warehouse / Driver – 2 OPENINGS
Are you interested in working in a position that is labor intensive, ever changing, will allow you the ability to move around campus, interact with a diverse contact base, and help to support a retail store to achieve University diversion and sustainability goals? If so, this job is for you!
Job duties for this position include but are not limited to:
- Driving a box truck
- Driving a forklift
- Picking up and delivering University excess items across campus
- Loading and unloading trucks
- Processing excess items for resale or recycling
- Providing exceptional customer service in a storefront setting
- Representing the department when on campus in a work capacity
- Entering information into Excel spreadsheets
Additional duties you may be cross trained in to assist other areas of the department include but are not limited to:
- Processing transactions through a POS system
- Answering phone calls and emails
- Creating and updating online sales postings
- Creating social media content
- Testing a wide variety of technology items and general electronics for functionality
- Sanitizing and / or destroying data containing devices
Applicant requirements include:
- A valid US driver’s license
- The ability to lift 25 pounds repeatedly, 50 pounds frequently, and up to and in excess of 100 pounds occasionally with assistance
- Be able to complete onsite box truck driver training
- Be able to complete onsite forklift training
- Be able to complete Bicycle Friendly Driver training
Applicant availability for an ideal candidate:
- The Surplus Property department is open Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm
- Full shifts from 7:30am to 4:00pm
- Morning shifts from 7:30am to between 11:00am or 12:00pm
- Afternoon shifts from between 11:00am or 12:00pm to 4:00pm
- A combination of full, morning, and / or afternoon shifts are okay
- Continued employment through University breaks and multiple semesters is ideal
Hourly Pay Rate : $14.81
