Welcome to CSU’s Multi-Carrier Shipping Software known as Transtream.  From this application you can pre-ship your package(s) by creating a Shipment Request Form for FedEx, UPS, DHL, and USPS that is then processed by our Shipping Desk & Mail Services team.  This system is open to all Faculty, Staff, & Student Employees shipping for CSU business only.  No personal packages are allowed at this time.

New to Transtream?

Visit the Transtream Help page to learn more about Transtream and how to properly register.  Then click Login to Transtream to get started!  You will need a Default Kuali Account Number to register for Transtream, so be sure to have that before trying to create your account. 

Drop-Off Deadline

All packages must be received at the Shipping Desk or Mail Services by 3:00pm Monday – Friday to be processed the same day.  DHL pickup times vary each day and are not guaranteed to go out same day.

Package Weight

You must supply an approximate weight in order to get correct carrier rates.  Every package will be re-weighed by the Shipping Desk or Mail Services.  Final shipping charges will reflect ACTUAL weight of the package/envelope.  To view your final pricing, use the View Shipments app in Transtream.

Return Shipping Labels

For domestic shipments that originate outside of CSU, that need to return to CSU, and you wish to pay for, you can now request these in Transtream by using the Create a Return Label Requisition button.  This is ONLY for shipments that are to come to CSU.  You can choose to have a label e-mailed to the person/business sending the package here, or if you use UPS, you can have pickup attempts made where the carrier brings the label with them.  More information is available in Transtream Help.

International Shipping

Pre-Approval is Required for ALL International Shipments Leaving CSU

All international shipments must be pre-approved by Export Control.  International Commercial Invoices will now be produced by Transtream and electronically signed for UPS, DHL, FedEx, and USPS shipments, no longer requiring separate forms to be completed.  Visit our International Shipping page for additional information.

Billing - Shipment Receipts

All prices shown in Transtream are ESTIMATES. Actual costs billed will depend on carrier final billing.  All Transtream billing is automated.  It is the responsibility of the shipper to download a Shipment Receipt from the View Shipments app and provide that to their Business Office as their Kuali backup documentation (much like a PCARD transaction.)

We are not able to bill sub-accounts, sub-object codes, or change object codes.  We are not able to bill anything but CO Chart of Account Kuali Account #’s (no PB, GC, or BG account #’s.)  If you need to bill one of those numbers, please contact the Shipping Desk for further information on how we can accommodate your need.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Once the package is processed by our Shipping Desk or Mail Services team, your shipment information is available in the View Shipments app in Transtream.  You can use the buttons in this app to generate a Shipment Receipt, see your Tracking #, and Track Your Package.

All users can change their Default Kuali Account # on demand by clicking the Update Profile link in the left menu bar after logging into Transtream.

International Shipments are more complicated and require additional steps.

  1. Complete the International Shipping Checklist and wait for final approval from the VPR Export Control office before sending your package to the Shipping Desk/Mail Services for processing.  THIS IS REQUIRED FOR ALL INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS, including those going to US Territories.
  2. Create your Shipment Requisition in Transtream.
  3. Ensure you are entering all the details (including separate line items in the Package Contents section for all items in the package – all individual items must go on their own line items and include an appropriate value.)
  4. Send your package to the Shipping Desk/Mail Services for processing.  We will contact you if we have additional questions about your shipment.
  5. Check the View Shipments app for a Shipment Receipt and to track your package

Any additional charges (customs, duty, etc.) will be billed via a separate Kuali Service Billing after bills are received from the carriers.  This process can take up to 2 months to process.

No, if you already have a pre-paid shipping label from a carrier such as UPS or FedEx, you do not need to complete a Transtream Requisition.  You may drop your package in your department’s Receiving or Mail Services location for us to pickup.  Please notify receiving@colostate.edu that a pre-paid package is there for pickup in case your location doesn’t get daily pickups.  You can also bring the package to the Shipping Desk by 3:00pm to be sent out the same day.
