The Shipping Department processes all outbound packages and freight leaving Colorado State University.  We specialize in all your freight needs and assist you with complicated shipping such as hazardous materials, international shipments, customs clearance, and truckload freight.

The deadline for your package to be sent out the same day is 3:00pm Monday-Friday.
Packages received at or after this deadline may be sent out the next business day based on workload.  Please contact the Shipping Department about special deadline times for specific carriers if your package is urgent.

Large quantity or pallet shipments, please contact the Shipping Department in advance to ensure timely processing of your shipment.

Ship a Package

Packages are typically small/medium/large boxes and letters that are sent through carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and DHL.  This encompasses all parcels leaving the CSU campus on behalf of departments.  Transtream is a full-service multi-carrier shipping software and is the preferred system to use when shipping packages.  Transtream allows you to enter package details, rate your shipment, and create a barcoded shipping request that is applied to your box(es) so you can send them to the Shipping Desk for final processing and hand-off to the major carriers.

Transtream is the system to send parcels from CSU.  Rate shop UPS, FedEx, DHL, & USPS services, and enjoy fully automated Kuali billing.

Pre-Paid Inbound Packages

Packages can be shipped pre-paid on your department's account.  Sometimes a vendor may require your shipment to be pre-paid for commodities you purchase.  To facilitate this request, we can create an electronic waybill for your shipment.  In other instances your department may require a return for a shipment you are sending out.  Prior to shipping the package we can include a waybill so the recipient can return the package to you at your department's cost.

To request a label or our account number information be sent to a vendor or sender to return a shipment to CSU, please use this option.  You will fill in the information and the Shipping Department will electronically send a carrier label (UPS or FedEx) or carrier account number to the sender.

This process is now integrated into Transtream.

Freight (Truck) Shipments

Freight shipments are those that are typically crated, palletized, oversized, overweight.  They ship via a large truck and can be from a pallet shipment to a full truckload.  The option in this section will cover freight shipments that are originating at CSU, or are originating from a vendor or off-campus sender.

Complete this quote request so we can accurately gauge your freight shipping needs and obtain accurate quotes from our carriers.

Personal Shipments Policy

Following State Law and University guidelines, the University is not able to process personal packages for shipment.  If your personal package has a pre-paid shipping label affixed to it, you may drop the package off at the Shipping Department prior to 3:00pm for pickup by FedEx or UPS.  Personal packages at Central Receiving departmental drop points will not be picked up. The allowance of personal package drop-offs is at the discretion of the Shipping & Receiving Manager and shall not be relied on as a benefit provided by the Departments of Central Receiving. CSU assumes no liability for personal packages dropped off or picked up by our drivers.
