Surplus Property is the reuse, resale, and recycle point for all assets owned by Colorado State University.  New items are received daily and our inventory is constantly changing. 

University departments may shop our warehouse and purchase with a PCARD or Kuali Account Number in person or over the phone. Questions may be sent to the Surplus Manager.

Public customers may shop our warehouse and purchase with any major credit card, cash, or verifiable check. Questions may be sent to our Retail Sales department.

E-Waste Collection Event!

Are you a CSU Student, Faculty Member, or Staff Member? This event is just for you!  Have you been holding onto some old or outdated electronics for a while?  Bring them to the all day E-Waste Collection Event on
Tuesday, April 22nd from 8:00am to 4:00pm
at Surplus Property!


Acceptable Items Include:
Desktop and Laptop Computers
Tabletop Printers, Scanners, Fax Machines, and All-in-One Machines
TV's and Monitors
VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray Players
Telephones and Cellular Phones
Any other household electronic device that requires a cord or battery for power.
Components (keyboards, mice, speakers, cords, etc., and general parts & pieces of electronic devices will not count against your two piece limit.)

* We will NOT be accepting Freon containing devices such as refrigerators or air conditioning units.

Maximum 2 Items Accepted for Free
Additional items are charged the current Service Fee and will only be accepted during the Tuesday collection event.

Need Free Compost Too?  In conjunction with the Compost Giveaway, you can bring your e-waste items to Lot 575 (Corner of Lake Street and College Ave) on Friday, April 25th from 1:00pm to 3:00pm and get free compost too! 
Maximum 2 e-waste items accepted on this date.

Subscribe to this list if you are a CSU employee or student seeking items for University departmental purchase only.  A Kuali Account number is required to purchase items on this list.  An eID is required to register.  Only e-mail addresses ending in will be accepted.  These items are NOT available for personal purchase.

Where do you list your items for sale? 

Surplus Property receives new items every day, throughout the day.  We list featured items on craigslist, Facebook, and Twitter with photos, prices, and descriptions.  Specialty items and large lots are posted on GovDeals as online auctions.  Photos of featured items are also shown below. If you are looking for more information or have questions on the items we have available, please call or e-mail us.  Or, better yet, come on by and see what we have in stock!  Click the logos below to visit each site!

Does Surplus Property accept electronics for recycling by Faculty, Staff, and Students?

Yes!  For a small fee Surplus Property will accept personally owned computers, computer monitors, cell phones, televisions, and other electronic devices from Faculty, Staff, and Students for recycling or disposal.
